This hypothetical fight has been contemplated many members of the MMA community since Tom Atencio and his Affliction fight organization began to threaten Dana White and his vast UFC organization. Although Affliction has a long way to go before it can rival the size and popularity of the UFC, Dana White and company have definitely taken notice. Naturally, many MMA fans around the world feel that the best way to settle the unspoken beef between the two men would be in the ring/cage.

Dana White has always been more of a promoter than a fighter. Although he does have some sparring matches under his belt and he has a significant weight advantage, Tom Atencio is a much more experienced fighter. Just a few days ago, on the 27th of June, Atencio got in the ring with Randy Hedderick at the Ultimate Chaos event in Mississippi. Although Atencio struggled in the first round and was nearly knocked out, he came back and dominated in the 2nd round and defeated Hedderick via TKO after Hedderick was unable to continue into the 3rd round.

Although the fans are clamoring to see a bout between Tom and Dana, at this point it seems somewhat unlikely. Especially since the two have loyalty to two completely different fight organizations. With the MMA world becoming more and more popular and thus more brutally competitive, it would definitely be an interesting sight to see.
