Shogun Rua, born Mauricio Miliani Rua, is a world famous mixed martial artist originally from Curitiba, Brazil. With wins over Chuck Lidell, Alistair Overeem, Lyoto Machida, and Rampage Jackson, Shogun has established himself as an elite MMA fighter, among the best in the world.
Shogun began training early on at the age of 15, initially learning the Muay Thai fighting style. Two years later he was introduced to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, the discipline in which he eventually earned a black belt from Chute Boxe veteran Nino Schembri.
