Brock LesnarWith his loss to Cain Velasquez back in October of 2010, Brock Lesnar relinquished his title as the Heavyweight Champion of the UFC, which he had previously defended twice. Such a fall from grace definitely makes one wonder: where to go from here? However the answer is now, and has always been, very clear for the pro wrestler turned mixed martial artist, “...you gotta sit back and dust yourself off, and get back on the horse.” Now more than ever is a time for Lesnar to go back through the video of the fight, and really analyse what he did well. More importantly though, Lesnar needs to dissect the aspects of his style that need a little polishing, and hone his skills in preparation for future bouts.

It's important to remember that even though he's accomplished a feat that some fighters never will in gaining a heavyweight title, Lesnar is still very much a newcomer to the sport of mixed martial arts. His loss to Velasquez was only his seventh professional fight, and it goes without saying that this dominant force in the sport still has a lot of gas left in his tank. Recently there has been speculation that Lesnar might be considering returning to professional wrestling. Brock quelled any concerns that fans might've had about a possible return to his previous profession, stating simply: “In the Octagon is where I feel I'm meant to be.” We couldn't agree more.

Lesnar is set to host the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter alongside Junior Dos Santos, with whom he has a scheduled fight on June 11th. Dos Santos touts an impressive 12-1 record, with seven of those victories coming by way of knockout. Lesnar definitely has his work cut out for him as Dos Santos has a strong boxing background to supplement his equally dangerous Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Always being one to look forward, Lesnar sees the fight with Dos Santos as only a stepping stone in his quest to challenge Cain Velasquez once again for his Heavyweight title. A win against Dos Santos would definitely instill some much needed confidence in any naysayers, and put him one step closer to the title he once held at the top.

President of the UFC Dana White recently showed much support for Brock Lesnar, being quoted as saying he is “the UFC's most under-rated fighter...and I don't think people give him enough credit for how good he really is”. While the majority of us would take this as an opportunity to toot our own horns if you will, Lesnar remained very humble, and stood by the position that he is still very much a developing fighter, and has much to learn yet. When watching interviews with Lesnar, a person can't help but think that this is a man who knows what he wants, and is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve it. In an interview with ESPN Lesnar had a few words for his upcoming opponent Junior Dos Santos: “Look out, here I come.”
